Dame Helen Mirren and Tom Hardy put on another show of friendship at BGC Group's 9/11 charity event in Canary Wharf, London, on Friday, a day after their red carpet reunion was branded awkward following reports of an on-set clash while filming their television series MobLand.
Hardy, 48, and Mirren, 81, joined a host of celebrities on the trading floor to help the financial firm raise money on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the United States.
The pair posed for photographs and hugged one another as they moved on from the past reports of tension and focused on raising money for charity.
A trading floor for charity
The annual event is held in memory of the 658 BGC Group colleagues who died in the September 11 attacks. It has raised more than $234 million for around 1,000 charities worldwide since it began.
Celebrities including Mirren and Hardy made phone calls and conducted real financial trades with clients on the trading floor at the company's Canary Wharf offices. One hundred per cent of the day's global revenues were donated to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and other charities.
Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC Group's sister company, lost 658 employees when the World Trade Center was attacked on September 11, 2001, the largest single loss suffered by any employer that day. The trading floor has been opened up to celebrities and charities every year since as a tribute.
Stars support their own causes
Mirren was raising money for Denville Hall, a specialised care home for retired actors and other members of the creative industries.
Pregnant Leigh-Anne Pinnock was there on behalf of Oasis UK and posed for pictures with comedian Leigh Francis, who was raising money for Body & Soul. Paddington Bear also turned up to lend Pinnock a hand.
Broadcaster Kate Garraway was in animated spirits, jumping on a desk with phone in hand and throwing her fist in the air after securing another donation.
Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, stepped away from the decks and abandoned the trading floor's corporate dress code in favour of a signature loud shirt as he attended on behalf of Martlets.
Comedian Michael McIntyre worked at double speed, holding up two phones at a time to take calls. Actress Amy Jackson Westwick made a solo appearance without her Gossip Girl star husband Ed Westwick, putting on a glamorous display in heels as she manned the phones on behalf of Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
Britain's Got Talent star and social media personality KSI got everyone's attention when he stood in the middle of the trading room floor in his blue tracksuit.
Sport stars and famous faces line up
Sportsmen Jamie Carragher and Jeff Stelling shook hands for a photo opportunity while supporting the 23 Foundation and DEBRA respectively.
Former footballer Karen Carney fielded calls on behalf of Action for Children.
Peta Todd and Sir Mark Cavendish were there on behalf of Help For Heroes.
Jamie Redknapp, representing Laureus, beamed while on the phone surrounded by fellow sportsmen and women.
Kenny and Gabby Logan supported Muscular Dystrophy UK and took selfies together, while Lord Ian Botham took a seat in the offices. Love Actually star Bill Nighy, there on behalf of Cure EB, saluted the camera, and Aggie Beever-Jones represented Starlight.
Sir Trevor Brooking attended for Saint Francis Hospice, boxer Daniel Dubois showed his support for DEBRA, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, also took to the phones.
Reports of on-set tension
Friday's charity appearance came a day after Mirren and Hardy's red carpet reunion, which was branded awkward following reports of a clash between the pair on the set of MobLand, the crime drama in which they both star. Their hug and photograph together on the BGC trading floor suggested the pair had moved past the tension.
