The second season of the series is scheduled to premiere on September 18 on the Paramount+ streaming platform. The newly released stills provide viewers with an initial look at the returning cast before the new episodes arrive. Paramount+ is an American subscription video-on-demand service owned by media conglomerate Paramount Global.
Gangsterland centers on the ongoing struggle between two powerful London crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons. The two rival factions continually fight for power and control across the city while taking care to avoid direct open confrontation. London is the capital of the United Kingdom and a long-standing setting for British crime fiction.
Creator team and production developments
Acclaimed British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, who previously directed the 2019 crime movie The Gentlemen, serves as one of the creators of the project. Ritchie is an English film director and screenwriter who gained international fame through stylish British crime movies, including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
English actor Tom Hardy stars in the series alongside an ensemble cast featured in the new promotional photographs. Hardy has earned widespread recognition for his work in major Hollywood films, including Inception, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises, in addition to acclaimed television dramas.
