Holly Willoughby has recalled an embarrassing live television wardrobe malfunction while presenting Noughties children's show Ministry Of Mayhem, which resulted in her appearing on Page 3 of The Sun newspaper the following day.
The 45-year-old presenter reflected on the mishap during the latest episode of her YouTube show Together, alongside guests Emma Bunton and Nicole Appleton.
Recalling the incident, Willoughby explained that she was taking part in a skit where members of the boyband Blue had been hypnotised and instructed to follow her wild dance moves.
"As far as I'm concerned, they were definitely hypnotised," Willoughby reminisced on the show.
Getting up to demonstrate her dancing, Willoughby described how a strap on her flimsy camisole top broke while she was on air.
"I stood up and I was really like going for it and as I looked down, the strap on my top had broken, and my left boob was swinging!" she said.
Willoughby explained that the show was still live when the strap snapped, forcing her to wait until a commercial break to seek reassurance from the production crew.
"But we were still live and I knew it happened. We had an ad break and I came off air and I was like: 'tell me you didn't see that!' And they were like: 'We can't. We're not going to lie to you. We did see it,'" Willoughby said.
She added: "And then The Sun put me on Page 3 the next day. So I've been a Page 3 girl with my boob out."
Previous Television Mishaps
This was not the first time Willoughby had spoken about the live television slip. Back in 2012, she discussed the moment during an interview with the Daily Mirror, calling it her most embarrassing moment on television.
"That was probably my most embarrassing moment on TV," Willoughby admitted at the time. "But I learnt a very valuable lesson, which was to always wear a sturdy bra. There could be an earthquake and I'd be the only person still in their dress!"
Willoughby co-hosted Ministry Of Mayhem, a Saturday morning children's entertainment show broadcast on ITV in the mid-2000s, alongside presenter Stephen Mulhern. Willoughby has since established herself as one of British television's most prominent presenters, while Mulhern has hosted popular series including Catchphrase and Britain's Got More Talent.
Spice Girls Nostalgia on Together
Elsewhere during the episode of Together, Spice Girl Emma Bunton showed off the outfit she wore to the 1997 BRIT Awards while Willoughby poured margaritas for her guests.
"I brought something for you," Bunton said, presenting the dress. "This is the original BRIT dress. Look at that, it's the tiniest thing and it's see-through. That's the original, I found it."
Willoughby gasped at the garment, replying: "I've got knickers bigger than this! This is history. Do you not keep this somewhere very safe? I feel like I should have gloves on."
The 1997 BRIT Awards ceremony saw the Spice Girls deliver a memorable performance of their hit singles Wannabe and Who Do You Think You Are. The event famously featured bandmate Geri Halliwell wearing her iconic Union Jack minidress.
Bunton also revealed that she maintains a wardrobe in her London home specifically to store preserved outfits from her time as Baby Spice.
Recalling a previous visit from Willoughby, Bunton shared a story about the presenter asking to try on her historic pop memorabilia in her garden.
"I do remember once, you came to my house and we were outside in the garden and you said 'What's up there?' And I said 'Oh actually, I'm about to store everything, all my Spice stuff,'" Bunton recalled. "And she went 'Can I go up there and try things on!' And I was like 'No, not today.' Only because we were a little bit tipsy as well otherwise I might have let you in."
