Japanese animation studio MAPPA has released the first official synopsis for Jujutsu Kaisen season four, previewing major upcoming battles in the Culling Game arc.
The new installment, officially titled Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 2, will resume the narrative directly following the major cliffhanger at the end of season three. Producers stated that the upcoming season will bring the main characters into some of the most crucial confrontations in the story arc.
According to the newly published synopsis, the deadly tournament created by manga author Gege Akutami will enter a new phase as the storylines of various characters begin to intersect. Sorcerers will continue to fight one another in a chaotic environment where evolving rules and competing personal motives make combat increasingly dangerous.
Tokyo 2 search and character storylines
The synopsis details several key plot developments for the upcoming season, including a mission involving Hakari and Panda. The two characters will travel to Tokyo 2 in search of Kashimo, who is highlighted as one of the strongest participants in the tournament and currently holds 100 points.
The story will also examine the aftermath of Maki's actions following her destruction of the Zenin clan. Maki has departed for an unknown destination, leaving her future trajectory unresolved as the tournament progresses.
At the same time, Choso and Yuki Tsukumo will remain focused on protecting Tengen. Meanwhile, Sukuna continues to prepare his own mysterious plans in the shadows while the conflict unfolds across Japan.
Production details and release window
Takeru Sato will direct the new episodes for animation studio MAPPA. The main voice cast members are set to return to portray their respective characters, although production executives have not yet announced any new additions to the voice cast.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy anime series based on the manga written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. The story centers on sorcerers who use cursed energy to combat dangerous supernatural entities across modern Japan. MAPPA, a prominent Japanese animation studio, produces the television adaptation.
A confirmed premiere date or release window for the fourth season has not yet been announced. MAPPA is currently rolling out new promotional collaborations while additional production details remain under development.
