DJ Kiko Rivera and his girlfriend Lola Garcia have traveled to Isla Cristina in Huelva for a quiet summer break following his second stroke.
The health scare was more severe than his first stroke and forced Rivera to cancel all planned concert appearances across Spain for the coming months. He said his priority is recovering from the effects of the cerebrovascular accident and spending time with his family and Garcia.
Rivera also withdrew from social media to avoid media scrutiny and negative comments. He previously used his accounts to share affection for Garcia and criticize his exes, which drew heavy public backlash.
Quiet getaway in Huelva
The couple was spotted by the sea after a customer at a local restaurant photographed Rivera and sent the image to Ion Aramendi's team on the Telecinco program El verano se mueve.
The television program reported that Rivera and Garcia chose Isla Cristina because it is a family destination without night clubs or party venues, allowing them to stay away from reporters.
Adults-only hotel and seafood feast
A reporter for the show said the couple rented a room in an adults-only hotel with private access to the beach, costing about 500 euros per night. Details of their stay were confirmed by a relative of a hotel worker who possessed photographic proof.
During their trip, Rivera and Garcia dined at an exclusive local restaurant, ordering a seafood meal of white prawns, clams, and red prawns. Witnesses also reported seeing Rivera resting on a towel on the beach during low tide, where he spoke calmly with visitors and posed for a photograph with local residents.
