The phenomenon, in fact, is a rare astronomical event: this solar eclipse will be hybrid, something that occurs every 10 years
The first solar eclipse of the year 2023 will occur at dawn on this Thursday, April 20, Brasilia time. Unfortunately, the phenomenon will not be seen from Brazil, but spectators – and astronomy enthusiasts – from Australia, East Timor and Indonesia , they will be able to witness the rare phenomenon with the naked eye.

The first solar eclipse of the year will be a hybrid
We consider this rare astronomical event, since the solar eclipse of this Thursday 20 is characterized by being a hybrid eclipse, i.e. it can be an annular solar eclipse or a total solar eclipse. This event only occurs every 10 years.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth, casting a shadow on our planet. Now, let us explain what each of the above-mentioned eclipses means.
When the Moon blocks some of the light from the Sun, it is called a partial solar eclipse or an annular solar eclipse. In this case, what we can see in the sky is something like a bright ring – which would be the outline of the Sun – filled by the Moon’s shadow.
But when the sunlight is totally blocked by the moon, then we call this event a total solar eclipse. Therefore, we see only a few rays of light from the star around the shadow of the Sun. Depending on where the viewer is, he can see one or the other, hence hybrid.
