An aesthetics franchise has decided to bet on an unusual compound for Brazilians increase your revenue up to 20% this year: the bovine placenta. The so-called “Hollywood Protocol” – because the product has already become a darling celebrity in the US – uses products with organic tissue and promises reversal of skin aging effects and other benefits.
The raw material, i.e. the bovine placentait is collected and exported from South Korea and processed into cosmetics by a company in the Brazilian sector.
The one who offers the beauty services, using the product, is Mais Top Estética, which has been betting on the novelty since April. The normal price of the aesthetic procedure with the product, excluding promotions, is BRL 2,697.
The clinic, however, believes that the “Hollywood Protocol” is customized to each client’s needs, so the value may vary. The catalog offers treatments for blemishes and melasma, microneedling, led lifting, botox, facial harmonization and peeling, for example.
Dermatofunctional physiotherapist and founder of the franchise, Natália Ribeiro, defends the choice of an unusual bioactive. “The placenta is the noblest organ that exists in nature, only females have it, it is thanks to it that animals reproduce and perpetuate the species”, she says.
The tissue is rich in stem cells and proteins, and the franchise promises to increase collagen and elastin synthesis in the skin after the procedures. “[A placenta] it produces all the cells and structures of the body, being the raw material of every organ, it is very rich in stem cells, vitamins, proteins, collagen matrix and a new skin. It is an organ that is discarded after childbirth, but this jewel of nature can be put to better use,” adds Ribeiro.
Cruelty-free and approved by Anvisa
Natália makes sure that the whole bovine placenta removal process is done animal cruelty free and that this was considered when the use of the compound was adhered to. According to the entrepreneur, the placenta harvesting process is supervised by licensed veterinarians “so that there are no pregnancy complications and no suffering for the animal”.
The product is released and licensed by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). So are the clinic’s protocols, which have scientific evidence according to the company itself.
What are the promised benefits?
According to Ribeiro, being a tissue rich in stem cells, the placenta offers a number of benefits when added to aesthetic procedures. Among the main ones, it highlights the reversal of skin aging effects in all degrees, skin whitening action, natural soothing and healing properties, filling in fine lines, improving skin hydration, regenerating tissues, intense luminosity and improvement of skin oxygen consumption.
Many international celebrities have already used similar products made from animal placenta, such as Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Harry Styles AND Annita.
Do you have a contraindication?
Contraindications for carrying out aesthetic procedures using placenta-based cosmetics are the same as for procedures in general, according to the entrepreneur. It is required that the person has healthy skin, i.e. without wounds and open wounds; it is also recommended that pregnant women perform the procedure only with medical clearance.
