A Santa Margherita Farm, In Campinaswithin the State, defined this Thursday 15, the show of the sertanejo singer Gusttavo Limawhich was supposed to take place there, on July 21st, will be transferred to the Shopping Parque Dom Pedro, in the same city.

The change of address was motivated by the fact that the farm, located in the district of Joaquim Egídio (east region of Campinas), was banned after four people died of Rocky Mountain spotted fever recently after attending a party there on 27th May.

According to the statement from the Fazenda Santa Margarida, the musical presentation will be held for July 21, the original date of the event, at 20:00. The statement stresses that ticket sales will continue “under the same conditions” as before the ban and that any tickets already sold are valid for the new space.

Campinas City Hall has banned Fattoria Santa Margarida from hosting new events on suspicion that the site is at the center of a spotted fever epidemic

On Tuesday 13, Campinas City Hall banned the space from hosting any more events on suspicion that the venue was at the center of a spotted fever epidemic that had already killed four people, including a 16-year-old teenager. All of the victims attended the same event, Feijoada do Rosa, on May 27.

A week later, the house of events hosted the concert of the singer Seu Jorge, on June 3rd. After identifying the outbreak, the recommendation is that all those who were present on both dates should seek medical attention if they begin to experience symptoms of the disease.

Two women are currently hospitalized who were at the Fazenda Santa Margarida, one aged 40 who attended the party on May 27, and another aged 38 who went to the Seu Jorge show on June 3. The causes of his patients’ illness are still being investigated.

The farm claims to comply with the determinations of the municipality of Campinas regarding the measures taken to identify possible new cases among the regulars and prevent their recurrence in the future.
