Gisele returns to Victoria’s Secret with Naomi and Adriana Lima

Victoria’s Secret has just announced the return of the historical angels in the new campaign of the lingerie brand. Among them, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campel, Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel. In the campaign called The Icons, there are also names like Hailey Bieber, Emily Ratajkowski and plus size model Paloma Elsesser.

It is worth mentioning that Gisele was one of the brand’s most acclaimed angels and starred in its shows and campaigns from 1999 to 2006. In other words, the comeback takes place after 17 years. Will our über model be at the VS show, scheduled for Sept. 26, after a four-year hiatus without the brand doing its acclaimed fashion show? Gisele said goodbye to the catwalks in 2015, at the Colcci show, during SPFW.

The resumption of runway shows and the return of iconic bombshells are part of a repositioning at VS, which has suffered casting losses and fat-phobia-related criticisms in recent years, as well as ex-models alleging sexual harassment at work.

In an attempt to improve the image, in 2019, the Brazilian Valentina Sampaio was the first transgender to pose for the brand. She has yet to be part of the lingerie brand’s casting.

Brazilians have always been part of the casting of the acclaimed angels. Adriana Lima, for example, was elected most precious Angel of the American label in 2017. She ended her cycle at the brand in 2018, for which she had been walking since 1999. That is 19 years in a row.
