The father is an alcoholic and drug addict, the mother is also an alcoholic and drug addict, and even bipolar. Six children grow up I don’t understand how, they don’t understand what they eat, they work where they have to, but at the same time they survive – welcome to the world of Shameless. The series has two versions – English and American, the American one is more entertaining, but in both of them everything goes wrong, permanently. In each episode, someone is imprisoned, robbed, beaten or worse. When it seems there is no ass, the father of the family, Frank, appears and announces that there it is, a new ass! Despite such a description, watching the series is very entertaining, because the children of this crazy family often love and help each other. Yes, the moral boundaries are so blurred that you can’t see them anymore, but something beautiful is still alive there!

In “It Happens Worse” everything is pretty good by Russian standards: a family can buy food, clothes, cars, and they don’t live in a cramped odnushka with five of them, but in their own House. But by US standards, things aren’t so hot for them: they constantly have to save on something and deprive themselves of something. Also, Frankie (the mother) isn’t very thrifty, so they mostly eat fast food, drink sodas, and snack on chips. The eldest son is a dumb football player, the second daughter is an eternal suspender ugly inspired by unrealizable hopes, the youngest is just very weird (but very smart). A useful series for girls who dream of three children and a cloudless family life, it is sobering and down to earth. Family life is what it really is.

“American Housewife” is a bright and fun illustration of the proverb “The man is the head and the woman is the neck”. The head of the family, although he teaches at the university and feeds the whole family, does not dare to disobey his wife. What is the conflict here? And the fact that for a good school the family moved to a very expensive neighborhood, and here literally everything screams that they do not fit in and do not correspond to the standard of living in this prestigious neighborhood. Either the eldest daughter’s boyfriend will buy her a car, or the friend of the second son will simply call her to rest in Europe. The task of parents is extremely difficult: to explain to children that money is not the main thing and that in addition to material values, there are other more important things in this world. Surprisingly, they succeed. And the series itself too!

You know, there are such families where the parents love each other very much and the children, and from the outside everything is completely cloudless, but … then a child will inevitably end up either in a mental hospital with a nervous breakdown, either marries / marries a person who is not of his entourage. Or something else weird is going on. And why? Because there are no perfect families, and “This is Us” will cover that in detail. Here the parents not only gave birth to twins, but also adopted a third (they were supposed to have triplets, one did not survive and they took the third “to replace”), they are loved with respect and raised their children in love. However, all children have issues with themselves/weight, family life and work, each has their own. They are in constant crisis, and the series tells us little by little why and how it happened.

It’s not for nothing that Modern Family has held its positions for many years and won its Emmys: this series contains all the funniest stereotypes. There is a rich old man who married a young Hispanic woman. His daughter, who has tried all her life to prove something to her father and win his love. The girl’s husband is a nice mattress Phil guy, who will do whatever she asks. A gay couple who adopted an Asian girl. Smart child, stupid child, overgrown child, late child. In general, it’s easier to tell what’s not here. Full house. You can make a list and tick boxes. I bet your family won’t have so many ticks?

Once upon a time, whether for long or not, soon the fairy tale is told, but the deed is not done anytime soon. In general, lived a real mafia and his family. The whole thing was called “The Sopranos” and was one of the best television shows of all time. Every six seasons, James Gandolfini tries somehow to balance his “work” and his family. It is so difficult for him that at some point he has to consult a psychologist to deal with panic attacks. Thanks to this technique, we learn about the feelings of the protagonist and begin to pity him. Yes, he kills people, but it’s hard for him with his mother! By the way, they say series writer David Chase wrote this line about himself and his rocky relationship with his mother.

“Mom is beautiful, but dad works” – this is how the family of Donald Draper from the retro series “Mad Men” can be described. Only dad, in addition to working, constantly spends time in the company of other women. The woman doesn’t know. She usually knows little about what happens in the “big world”: leaving her modeling career, she left this very world and became an exemplary wife and mother. Admittedly, the action of the series takes place in the middle of the last century, but does that really remind you of anything?

You can’t imagine this on purpose: the virgin Jane, her gynecologist, quite by accident, impregnated herself with her brother’s sperm. He was supposed to impregnate another woman, but Jane got him. This was certainly not the case in your family. Jane the Virgin is a parody of all Latin American soap operas at once. Jane, of course, has a fiancé, a handsome, honor-mind-conscience policeman. The groom is not against the child. But then a father appears – a handsome man and, of course, a millionaire. And he doesn’t mind having a baby either, and he doesn’t mind raising a child in his palace with his princess Jane either. And then Jane always finds her father, who turns out to be a telenovela star. In general, there is too much fun too!
