After announcing his departure from Rádio Bandeirantes, Jose Luiz Datena He explained that he needed to slow down. In addition to the radio program, the 66-year-old host also hosts “Brasil Urgente” on TV, from which he will also temporarily step away.
“I was really tired and taking care of my health,” he explained in an interview with Notícias da TV. “Next Thursday I will undergo two surgeries, I already have six stents. It’s time to take my foot off,” she added, without detailing the “somewhat complex” procedures.

The cardiac stent is a small expandable device that has a tubular shape, indicates the Ministry of Health, and is made of nitinol, stainless steel or an alloy of chromium and cobalt.
Inserted inside an artery, it works by preventing flow obstruction, restoring blood flow to the coronary artery and, therefore, normalizing the heart rhythm.
The device is usually indicated to treat problems such as blocked coronary artery or prevent aneurysm rupture, and there are no limitations for patients. If the clinical condition requires multiple stents, the medical team will evaluate the possibility of heart surgery.
According to the federal ministry, the Unified Health System (SUS) offers two types of stents: the conventional model, used for the coronary artery, and the pharmacological model, used in cardiac endovascular interventions in diabetic patients and with lesions of the thin vessels. Datena did not provide details on the type of stent implanted in her body.
