Kitchen with pantry of 28 m2 with round table and German corner with curved bench

The A+G Arquitetura studio created an integrated space, with light coverings and a bench that acts as a trunk

A large family – eight people – already lived in this house, but felt the need to renovate the kitchen and service areato make them larger and more functional.

For this mission, the architects Ana Luisa Cairo and Gustavo Prado, of the studio Architecture A+G. “They ordered a pantry in the kitchen with large round table to accommodate all family members for daily meals, in addition to black granite countertops,” says Ana Luiza.

“To satisfy all the customers’ wishes, we incorporated part of the old service area and outbuildings into the kitchen and created a new service area in a covered, underutilized space on the land,” adds Gustavo.

In the new project, the new kitchen with integrated pantry now measures 28 m2 and, while maintaining the visual unity, the space has been subtly sectorized through different coverings of the wall units, which alternate between freijó standard ant and platinum standard ant.

The architects even mixed some of them up retro elements – such as the furniture frames, the black shell handles and the farmlank style sink – with other elements with cleaner lines to give a contemporary and, at the same time, welcoming look. Furthermore, they chose to work with a black, gray and white gradientsoftening the weight of the false ceilings.

“We choose shades of gray for the floor and wardrobes and, for the walls, a matt white coating, which, being present on almost all walls, helps to enhance natural light. The colors enter the details such as chairs, cushions, paintings and plants”, explains Ana Luisa.

“One of the highlights of the project is, without a doubt, the curved bench that we designed in the carpentry shop for the pantry and it also works as trunk. The German corner was the best way we found to install a large table in the space, without compromising circulation,” concludes architect Gustavo Prado.
