My experience at the resort

The experience of well-being and welcome began upon arrival. After checking in at the front desk, we were escorted by an attendant to our accommodation, the Villa, complete with a living room with sofa, television and small kitchen, bathroom and private pool on the lower level, and a suite with a bathtub on the upper level . floor from above.

Once there, there was a bottle of sparkling wine, a selection of fruit and a welcome letter.

Indeed, our accommodation made a difference: the extremely comfortable bed, the private bathroom with two countertop sinks and the dispenser of shampoo, conditioner and liquid herbal soap in the showers were just some of the positive points.

After completing the “tour” of the accommodation, we toasted our arrival and, shortly after, we left for our first experience outside the room: dinner.

All-inclusive system

Thanks to the all-inclusive system, everything in the restaurant can be consumed, without limits, by all guests, including non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, such as beers, wines and sparkling wines.

Since all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are always consumed in the same environment, the restaurant has hot and cold food stations, as well as specific options for each period. For the first meal, for example, it was possible to order scrambled eggs and tapioca. At lunch and dinner there were pasta and meat stations.

Galinhas restaurant

In addition to the main restaurant, there were three other options: Galinhas, with regional cuisine, Vellas, with Asian cuisine, and the Tuna Restaurant, with a six-course dinner – all a la carte and only for guests who book four or more nights. . Even though we only stayed three nights, we were invited to discover these options which, in fact, give an even more exclusive touch to the experience.

Finally, four other locations throughout the resort offered food and drinks: the café, the food truck, the pool bar and the lounge bar next to the reception.

Free time

As expected, the pool area, with three different options, is the busiest during the day. There we chose one of the many loungers inside the main pool to enjoy the sunny day.

On the beach, which is a few steps away, there are further leisure opportunities: two nets for games such as volleyball and futvolley and a futmesa table, as well as more chairs and umbrellas for those who want to stay in front of the sea.

Free time on the beach in front of the resort

Throughout the day, children can have fun with the entertainment promoted by the resort’s monitors. For the adults, there was some afternoon activity in the pool every day, from relaxing lessons to axé choreography. We even attended one of them, along with several other guests scattered around the space, reminiscing about the steps of the 2000s.

The resort also has two recreational spaces for the younger public: the Kids Club and the Teens Club, with activities aimed at every age group.

The Westin Porto de Galinhas

To end the day, guests can gather in the lounge after dinner to watch musical performances and sip a drink at the bar.

Outside the resort, we took a few hours to do two sightseeing tours of Porto de Galinhas: the natural pools and the Maracaípe coconut plantation. To do this, we took a buggy and went to Vila beach, where the drivers of the rafts are located who take tourists to the areas where the pools are formed.

In addition to the blue sea, a sight to see are the fish that “isolate” themselves in the coral reefs during low tide. You can see them both with your diving mask and with the naked eye above the water.

Next we will head to the Maracaípe coconut plantation, where it is common to find a concentration of tourists taking photos in strollers with the huge coconut trees lined up as a backdrop. Fun fact: some men currently work there as “human drones”, climbing coconut trees to take photos from the treetops with tourists’ cell phones.

Movement

I went to visit the resort’s gym early in the morning on the second day of my stay. Even though the environment was not very large, it had everything needed to carry out my complete training: treadmill, exercise bike, a bodybuilding machine with different functions and various accessories, such as dumbbells, TRX, balls, etc. The jewel in the crown is the minibar with towels and fruit available to guests inside the gym.

Academy

There are also physical activities in the pool, such as water aerobics with instructors and the standing plank yoga class in the pool, which takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays – this unfortunately we were unable to do due to the dates.

Finally, for running lovers, the resort offers a concierge service, with a program of functional, localized and strength training, running on the beach and final stretching.

SPA

Amay Wellness & SPA massage room

To conclude the experience we went to the Amay Wellness & SPA for a relaxing body massage. The lighter and more welcoming atmosphere is noticeable right from the restaurant’s reception, which offers delicate aromas and music to start slowing down the guest and entering a “relaxed” state of mind.

After changing from bikinis to bathrobes, we were taken to a double massage room which, in addition to stretchers, also had two armchairs and tubs of water on the floor. Then the masseuses began the experience by washing our feet with water and lavender essence. We will then lie down to begin the one-hour relaxing massage.

Once the session is over, the heated pool area, complete with waterfalls that massage the back, is available to anyone who wants to indulge in a few more moments of relaxation inside the SPA.

What was it like spending three days at The Westin?

From the beginning to the end of the trip, the team at The Westin provided us with the best resort experience. All of the employees we encountered and served were extremely friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more special.

For me the highlight was the all-inclusive system and the huge variety of food and drinks available to guests throughout the day, with options both for those who want to maintain a lighter diet and for those who want to take advantage of the varied menu none restriction.

But it’s worth mentioning that the hotel’s other pillars aren’t left behind: the comfort, activities, environments (filled with beautiful handcrafted elements crafted by local professionals), and overall service actually exceed what they promise. It was a wonderful few days of an exclusive, relaxing and memorable experience.
