Adele, 35, has made headlines around the world after losing around 40 kilos more than two years after undergoing nutritional re-education. The singer has adopted a healthier lifestyle and her new eating habits have sparked curiosity among many fans.
Adele’s goal, according to her personal trainer, was not just to lose weight, but to improve her immune system and overall health. The Briton has already revealed in interviews that her weight loss was personally motivated.
“It was never about losing weight. It was always about getting stronger and giving myself as much time as possible each day without my phone. I became quite dependent on him,” she revealed.
In another interview with Vogue UK, Adele said that as she lost weight, she ended up becoming “addicted” to exercise. “It was because of my anxiety. By exercising I felt better. It was never about losing weight, it was always about staying strong and giving myself more time each day without my phone,” she said.
The singer has joined the Sirtfood diet which limits the use of caffeine, alcohol, cigarettes and all “spicy and citrus” foods for a certain period.
The menu has a daily calorie limit and includes detox juices, dark chocolate, nuts, but with an intake of only 1,000 calories in the first seven days.
According to nutritionist Isolda Prado, the SIRT diet is a low-calorie diet program made up of food choices rich in substances that activate sirtuin enzymes.
«It was a strategy created to help lose weight and maintain cellular longevity, in short, for those who want to ‘lose weight and stay young’. It includes some specific foods, rich in polyphenols, such as grapes, buckwheat, coffee and green tea, for example, which, associated with a low-calorie diet, activates the sirtuin enzymes, responsible for cellular longevity and the increase in body metabolism,” he explains.
