Couscous is an easy recipe to make and can be adapted to the tastes of those who prepare it, as well as to the ingredients you have at home. Don’t have chicken? You can use tuna and so on. We opted for sardines and semi-mature cheese to create an extremely tasty couscous.
Although the couscous maker makes preparation easier, it is not a requirement, as you can guarantee your couscous using a regular pan. We teach you how in the following preparation method:
Cous cous with sardines and half cure
Time: 40 minutes (+10 minutes rest)
Performance: 6 servings
Difficulty: easy
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup oil (tea).
- 1 large onion chopped
- 1 crushed garlic clove
- 1 can of drained sardines
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- 1 can of drained vegetable selection
- 1/2 cup chopped green olives
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cube of vegetable broth
- 4 cups (tea) of water
- 1/2 cup shredded semi-hard cheese
- 500 g of corn flour
- Tomato slices and hard-boiled egg to decorate
Preparation method:
- In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat and fry the onion and garlic until they start to turn golden brown.
- Add the sardines, tomatoes, selected vegetables, olives and parsley and fry for 5 minutes
- Pour the vegetable broth dissolved in water, cheese and cornstarch and mix well until it starts to separate from the bottom of the pan.
- Decorate a mold with a 24cm diameter hole in the center with the cherry tomatoes and eggs
- Pour in the couscous, press well to firm up and leave to rest for 10 minutes before turning out and cutting to serve immediately.
