The presenter reveals a new venture with organic coffee cultivation

Ana Maria Braga, 74, is the owner of a farm called Primavera, a 376-hectare property located in the hinterland of São Paulo.

The host of “Mais Você” revealed in an interview with “Globo Rural” that after having “failed” twice she decided to invest in the cultivation of organic coffee, free of artificial inputs such as chemical fertilizers, pesticides or other synthetic additives.

The site also has plantations of eucalyptus and various types of fruit and vegetables, as well as the breeding of beef and dairy cattle.

“I was on the verge of losing money when they took me to Rio de Janeiro,” she said of moving the “Mais Você” program to Globo studios when she was investing in elite livestock.

That’s when he changed fields and transformed 100 acres of pasture into commercial woodland, a partnership he formed with an industrial wood company.

Ana has two right-hand men who manage her farm, one of them, Júlio César, is a great coffee connoisseur and is helping the presenter invest in the sector. “Coffee wasn’t on my bucket list,” he admits.

“Organic coffee has grown in terms of popular acceptance and price. Since I am investing, I will invest in something that will give me profitability and a better future… I think I can extend this coffee plantation, I am thinking of another 10 hectares” , plan.

Since the bumper harvest of eucalyptus occurs every seven years, the presenter admits that profitability is reduced. “At the time they told me that it covers the expenses of the farm, mind you, it doesn’t cover them,” he says.

On another occasion she reveals that she is convinced of breeding ostriches. “There was a time here in Brazil when they said that the ostrich was the salvation of humanity and everyone believed it, right? I was one of them,” she revealed.

Given the high costs associated with egg conservation and bird care, the artist and entrepreneur said she gave up the business. “Summary of the play, we didn’t make a penny. I donated ostriches and nobody wanted them.”
