Films for children who love to travel

There are more than 50 films from 8 countries at CCBB São Paulo […]

Between January 13 and February 4, 2024, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil São Paulo hosts the second edition of the exhibition ‘Um Giro pelo Mundo – Navigating Children’s Cinema’, featuring more than 50 films produced in eight countries, including Brazil.

The event is free to enter and runs from Wednesday to Sunday with other activities, such as workshops, shows and attractions focused on sustainability.

“The idea is to take films outside of commercial cinema, bringing children a new look at world cinema, since many of these films do not reach Brazil,” warns Carina Bini, director and curator of the exhibition.

In this second edition the public will also be able to see productions from Germany, Argentina, Australia, Spain, Italy, France and Switzerland.

For Bini it is an opportunity to stimulate children, using works that deviate from the standardized language we are so used to, but “bring fantastic productions and wonderful plots”.

The theme of this edition is ‘tolerance’ and will be present in the stories projected on the screen throughout the exhibition and also in parallel activities, where topics such as diversity, inclusion, respect for others and for the environment will be discussed , “regardless of cultural, social or individual differences,” warns Bini.

The films will be dubbed, with the exception of works in Spanish (Spain and Argentina), which will be shown with the original audio and without subtitles.
