Pan was known for producing “chocolate cigarettes” as well as “chocolápis” and coins
This Monday 29th, Chocolates Pan, the famous brand of “chocolate cigarettes” and “chocolápis” that has declared bankruptcy, will go up for auction. The minimum bid to win the lot with the company’s brands will be R$ 24.7 millionas specified in Positive Leilões, where you can make virtual offers.
The value was indicated after an examination carried out at the request of the Court of San Paolo. The first phase of the auction will continue until February 1st, closing at 1pm. The money raised will be used to pay the company’s debts.
Pan Produtos Alimentícios, founded in 1935, filed for bankruptcy on February 13 this year. The company has been in judicial recovery since March 2021, but the process was unsuccessful. At the time the company had debts of approximately R$260 million and had 52 employees.
Factory purchased by Cacau Show
In October last year, the former Chocolates Pan factory was sold to chocolate company Cacau Show for the value of R$71 million. The deal officially closed just over a month after Cacau Show sold the property at auction on September 15.
Cacau Show purchased all the assets of Pan’s failed estate that were put up for auction at the time, purchasing the area of the property where the factory was located, located in the Santa Paula neighborhood, an elegant area of São Caetano do Sul, in Grande San Paolo, as well as the equipment and machinery on site.
The company CSH Administração de Bens Intangíveis Ltda, the financial arm of the Cacau Show group, paid for the 10,432 m² space, a value 33% higher than the initial price set by the Court for the auction.
