Gabrielly Miguel and Douglas Martins, founders of Casal Maloka online, left the streets a month ago and, thanks to the Internet, started their first business together
Gabriele Miguel AND Douglas Martins experience the most amazing moment of their life. Known online as “Casal Maloka”, the 25-year-old hairdresser and 33-year-old delivery man lived together for two years in a tent on the sidewalks of Santos, on the southern coast of Sao Paulo state. years. Today, weeks after New Year’s Eve, they open their first business: a beauty salon.
“Casal Maloka”: from the streets to the opening of the beauty salon
The couple’s life changed completely in just one month. Gabrielly Miguel and Douglas Martins, who have been in a relationship for 6 years, had only a tent, where they lived with their dog Milanine. Douglas found work as an app provider. In service, he met Alexander. It is from this friendship that everything changed.
This is because Alexandre lent a cell phone to “Casal Maloka” and suggested that Gabrielly and Douglas create social media accounts and share videos showing their daily lives on the city streets. This is what they did. Today they have more than 2 million followers on Instagram alone and are acclaimed by the public.
First changes
Due to the recognition on social media, a resident of Santos, outside Brazil, contacted the couple to announce that her apartment in the city was empty and that she would rent it to influencers for a reasonable price. The rent was paid for 6 months. Today they announce on social media that they are formerly homeless.
Gabrielly and Douglas also received an offer to restore their teeth. They were noticed by the owners of ClÃnica Viotto dentistry, in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, in the hinterland of São Paulo, who offered the couple specialized treatment. Some teeth were extracted, others were implanted and, finally, contact lenses were placed.
The new venture of “Casal Maloka”
It was thanks to his followers that “Casal Maloka” was able to invest in his first venture. Studio Gabrielly Miguel was born from a kitten. Initially the purpose of the monetary donations was to purchase furniture for the new house. But, knowing the influencer’s story, another fan got in touch and paid the value of the furniture and appliances.
In this way they were able to allocate the amount accumulated in crowdfunding to the opening of the beauty salon, in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Gabrielly’s hometown. Today she works only as an entrepreneur, despite being a hairdresser. The establishment has three employees and offers hair, nail, eyelash and eyebrow services.
“It’s about overcoming! A dream come true, today we opened Studio Gabrielly Miguel. We want to thank all the partners who support us in this super special moment!”they wrote on social media. Watch the video below:
