Doctors found an Australian patient’s lungs full of ‘holes’
Australian Ashley Timbrey, 29, died at the end of February after being infected with an organ-rotting bacterium. On February 15, while in the city of Nowra, Australia, the woman lost feeling in her legs and fainted. She was taken to a hospital in the region, where she was hospitalized for 10 days, before being transferred to a hospital in Sydney.
Doctors placed Ashley in a medically induced coma for tests and discovered that her lung was full of holes. The result: Ashley was infected with a bacterium called “methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus” (commonly known by the acronyms SARM or MRSA).
The bacterium is resistant to several antibiotics, which makes it very difficult to treat and makes the body increasingly susceptible to other infections and diseases. Ashley Timbrey died of pneumonia.
In an interview with Yahoo News, Ashley’s cousin, Shantelle Locke, said the patient was diagnosed with sepsis (generalized infection) throughout her body. “There was a superbug that was attacking all of her organs, and then she got pneumonia and it killed her,” she said.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Infection with “methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus” is more common in hospitals, where, in certain situations, the human body is more fragile and prone to infection. But recently the contamination has also been identified outside of medical institutions. The respiratory system is usually one of the targets of bacteria. Contamination occurs through other agents with the disease.
One of the main symptoms of a bacterial infection is the appearance of blisters on the body, which could indicate that the skin is infected. The biggest problem occurs when it enters the body, such as through cuts or cracks.
Experts recommend that to avoid an infection caused by bacteria, it is important to always cover wounds, keep your hands and skin clean and not share towels or razors.
