Despite the market uncertainties, the region presented a favorable climate for harvesting good olives
In recent years, olive oil production in the world has been affected by the scarcity of raw materials, caused by wars and, above all, by the climate crisis, directly impacting the price of the final product.
Despite this bad scenario, the olive trees grown in the Serra da Mantiqueira region, which corresponds to the Brazilian states of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, have found a favorable climate for the harvest of good olives, which should take place within this March.
The current harvest should be higher than last year’s, with an extraction of around 63 thousand litres, as reported by the president of the Olive Growers Association of Contrafortes da Mantiqueira (Assoolive), Moacir Batista do Nascimento Filho.
