Lina Bo Bardi’s architecture inspires the carpet collection

Designer Giorgio Bonaguro is an admirer of Lina Bo Bardi’s projects. He chose the Sesc Pompeia lines to create the LBB collection made up of ten pieces.

“The architecture of Sec Pompeia It’s a gigantic work of art,” says the Italian designer, in excellent Portuguese Giorgio Bonaguro. Like Lina, Giorgio has identified with Brazil since his first visit and continues to study the history of our architecture, often influenced by his country of origin.

The enchantment he has always felt for Sesc Pompeia is today transformed into a collection of carpets, launched by the Brazilian company Punto e Filo. This is the second time the designer has collaborated with the brand.

A close look at the sinuous designs and delicate colors of the rugs in the collection, called LBB, reveals details of the Sesc building. Windows, in particular, can be recognized easily. Each has its own shape and, in a stylized way, they appear in high and low relief on the softness of the carpets.

The collection LBB, like all Punto e Filo pieces, is made through a process that mixes industrial and artisanal work. And, as Giorgio reminds us, the perfection of the curves of the tapestry designs is only possible with hand embroidery.

The material, as already happens with other carpets produced by the brand, is regenerated nylon, produced by Aquafil from the removal of industrial fishing nets abandoned at sea.
