The designer said that success lies in adapting to new times
Italian designer Giorgio Armani has not ruled out the possibility of his famous company being involved in a merger with a competing brand or being listed on the stock exchange.
On the verge of turning 90, the entrepreneur is already thinking about the future of the group, especially when he has to give up control.
“The independence of large groups may still be a value for the future, but I cannot rule out anything. Listing is something we haven’t talked about yet, but it is an option that could be taken into consideration, hopefully in a distant future,” Armani analyzed in an interview with Bloomberg.
Emiliano also underlined that the great success of his work lies in the great “ability to adapt to new times” “At the moment I don’t foresee an acquisition by a large luxury conglomerate, but, as I said, I don’t want to rule anything out, because it would be an ‘unentrepreneurial’ way of acting,” he commented.
Regarding his successor at the helm of Giorgio Armani, the designer analyzed that the best and “most strategic” solution would be a “group of trusted people close to him and chosen” by him.
“I started alone with a small company and gradually transformed it into a group of international importance, thanks also to the precious contribution of the collaborators I chose along the way”, he concluded. .
