Summary
Brunch Weekend, a pioneering food festival to promote brunch in Brazil, returns this year in a more special way, available in 25 venues in the city with a set menu, accompanied by a Lillet drink for R$89.
The ninth edition of Brunch Weekend, a pioneering food festival to promote brunch in the country, will take place every weekend in May in more than 25 venues across the city, including cafes, bars, restaurants and patisseries.
The venues will offer a closed menu accompanied by a Lillet drink at the fixed price of R$89. Among the various options are: bread baskets; scrambled eggs with bacon; Parma croissant and Emmental; fruit salad; juices and coffee – available at Vis Savor Boulangrie, in Itaim Bibi.
The Xepa brunch, in Santa Cecília, will feature Reuben Monsieur: artisanal potato bread with canned meat, semi-mature cheese fondue, fried egg with soft yolk. The menu also includes pineapple brulée cheesecake with coconut and a glass of Lillet aperol, a slightly sweet brut sparkling wine.
Padoca do Jaca, in Pinheiros, will serve a Buenos Aires sandwich made with brioche bread with cheese, royal ham and roasted tomato. Additionally, the menu includes bread with cheese and butter; toast, scrambled eggs and tulha cheese; Citrus cake, ricotta cream and pistachio praline; yogurt, fresh grapes and granola with dried grapes and Lillet Tonic drink.
Another temptation in Pinheiros is the menu of the Rendez Vous bistro: artisan bread canapés with mature goat’s cheese, slices of Parma ham and grapes with balsamic and honey; mini French puff pastries; natural yogurt; red fruit jelly and butter.
The essential item on every home’s menu is the egg, served in variations such as scrambled, poached, Benedict, fried, deep-fried, among others.
“The concept of a meal that combines late breakfast and lunch, ideal to share on the ‘laziest’ days, such as weekends, returns this year in a very special way. This edition will further promote brunch behaviors and culture that are certainly destined to last,” said Kelly Lobos, creator of BrunchWeekend, a precursor event born in 2016, in an interview with CNN.
