Choripan arrives in the lively Rua Itupava, in the Alto da XV neighborhood, in Curitiba, this Saturday (4). Considered one of the coolest and most democratic gastrobars in the capital of Paraná, the place serves the typical Argentine dish, choripan, a sausage sandwich, which has a Brazilian touch with its award-winning recipes.




The restaurant is located in a historic house from 1951, in Rua Itupava, with comfortable indoor spaces and outdoor tables. It is considered the best gastronomic place to go with pets.

At the opening party, which will start at 2pm, customers will be able to enjoy the afternoon to the sound of DJs Astro Louie and Moska, tango shows, free tastings of Cervejaria Fumaçônica, Gin Hambre de Colores and “Cacha de Colores”.

The idea was born as a hobby of João Scalzo, passionate about gastronomy, and Carlos Fracaro, who knew everything about drinks and cocktails. Long-time friends, they were looking for a place that combined simple cuisine with quality ingredients, but with good value for money, where people of all ages and families could meet to enjoy the city in the open air. And so Choripan appeared, following exactly this proposal.



Menu

Sausage is the star of Choripan, provolone has already received an award from Ana Maria Braga’s Mais Você program, as the best artisanal fresh pork sausage in Brazil and also as the best artisanal pork sausage in the country, according to the Pork Butcher’s Challenge.

On the menu there are 10 choripan options for all tastes, there are sausages with ham, beef ribs, chicken, vegan and with fillings such as provolone, garlic and coalho cheese. They are served inside grilled bread and topped with chimichurri, cabbage and vinaigrette, traditional house style; but customers can also opt for cream cheese or cheddar cheese and bacon.



The menu offers savory and sweet empanadas, original porteña recipe, fried salami, grilled sausage with cassava in butter (for two or three people), coalho cheese with Argentine dulce de leche, broths, portions, among other delicacies, all with an Argentine touch.

There is also no shortage of well-made drinks starting from R$15, such as the “Fernet con Cola” traditional in Argentina; and Chucho Perro draft beer, brewed by Bastards Brewery especially for Choripan, which costs from R$10 for the combination.
