“Crystal disease” is what people often call osteogenesis imperfecta. It is a genetic disease that causes a person’s bones to be very fragile.

Before the age of 10, Nastya suffered 50 fractures: she spent more time in trauma centers than at home. One day, an anonymous note was even left in the family’s mailbox, advising parents not to let their child go out. The disease did not subside until he was 11, but by then many injuries had caused bone deformity. Anastasia therefore lost the ability to walk.

This did not prevent her from starting a family: the girl met her future husband Maxim on social networks. It was impossible to notice Nastya’s health problems in photographs, but she did not deceive the guy by admitting: “I can’t walk. Maxim was not bothered by this and soon the couple moved in together, then married.

Anastasia and Maxim found out about the pregnancy on Epiphany and decided that it was a good sign. But doctors considered Nastya’s intention to give birth a serious mistake. “They did consultations, dissuaded me, offered me an abortion,” the young girl says of her relationship with the doctors. One of the doctors even came up to Nastya one day and asked: “Have you thought about castration?”

But the young parents were right: the baby was born at seven months, but in perfect health. They named the newborn Victoria. After all, for the couple, the birth of a child was a real victory. Today, Anastasia’s daughter is an ordinary active girl who plays sports and dreams of becoming a doctor.

Nastya herself not only takes care of the house and family: she works remotely in a bank. It is difficult for people with such problems to find a job in an office, since not all employers are ready to build ramps and equip the premises, and it will not be so easy to cross the city.

Anastasia does not lose hope of walking again. She managed to raise funds for the operation: on her social media page at the end of June 2022, the young girl wrote that one leg was “already done” and that after a period of rehabilitation, doctors would work on the second.
