Who can sell?
One of the main goals is the regulation of pet breeders. As a result, private individuals are prohibited from selling them. The creators, in turn, must register, have the file CNPJ active and have a veterinarian as responsible technician. The accommodation must be ideal for the size, size and quantity of the furry animals. In the case of puppies, they can only be given to their owners after four months of age, after having lived with their mother for six weeks, if neutered and in possession of a medical certificate certifying their health conditions.

Additionally, the bill also prohibits establishments from leaving pets in closed windows, tethered or housed in spaces that impede their movement, causing discomfort and stress.
It’s not the first time
This is the second version of the bill. Previously, it banned the sale of cats, dogs and birds in pet stores and buying and selling platforms across the state St. Paul. The governor did not let these standards pass and, therefore, the project was reformulated.
