Nayara warns that a large part of the population lives with an inflamed body and this is to raise public awareness. “Inflammation acts as a natural response of the body in cases of infection, injury or exposure to harmful substances. It works as a warning for the body to take action to fight a threat or external agent. However, sometimes, the threat does not exist not even and the body functions as if it were there, in a permanent state of alert. This type of inflammation, called chronic, is usually linked to bad lifestyle habits, such as excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods, unregulated sleep, smoking and constant stress,” he says.
