“Quarto do Ico” embraces the specific needs and personality of the 14-year-old boy, passionate about music, literature and his dog Pipa.
Ico’s Room is an environment that highlights neurodiversity in the pursuit of a more inclusive society. The space marks the seventh participation of Alexandra Gandolfi at CASACOR Paraná.
The room had been carefully designed for an autistic teenager, considering his specific emotional, behavioral and sensory needs. To create an environment that makes Enrico feel at home, the professional, a PhD student in Neuroarchitecture, also draws on her personal experience with two neurodivergent children.

Music, books and Ico’s faithful companion, Pipa, were the main inspirations for the project. Each element of the environment represents an extension of your personality. For the 14-year-old boy, the bedroom is a place of relaxation, rest and reconnection. Therefore, all the solutions promote comfort.

The panel that frames the bed and supports the bookcase invites the user to look at the outside world through the window.
