According to the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO), 20% of the population usually develops an eye problem between June and September. The doctor reiterates that it is a common sensation feeling of sand inside the eye, redness and discomfortwhich can be associated not only with low temperatures, but with external factors such as, for example, prolonged use of computers and other screens, as well as with some autoimmune diseases and diabetes.

“In winter, the intense cold and very dry air can cause some problems that we do not see so often in the warmer and more humid seasons. It is during this period that allergies, conjunctivitis and the predominance of dry eye syndrome appear. That is, when the eye loses the ability to produce the amount of tears necessary for lubrication, in addition to the usual care, it is important to protect the eyes from exposure to sunlight, take care of the hygiene of stored clothing, among other points of care. Attention”.
