Natural light bathes the marbled porcelain tiles on the walls and floors of this loft


Architect Melina Romano incorporated artwork and natural materials into her environment in collaboration with Portinari at CASACOR SP.

With an environment designed by the studio Melina Romanothe brand Doormen invites visitors to CASACOR São Paulo to follow paths that lead them to art.

Called “Caminhos Portinari”, the 200 m² loft features furniture designed exclusively by Brazilian designers.




“Inspired by the legacy of classic Brazilian furniture, our curation highlights young designers who draw inspiration from this tradition, promoting a contemporary vision that enhances our design heritage,” says the professional who bears the name of the studio.

Upon entering, the intention is that each room – living room, kitchen, dining room, garden, study and suite – be like a passage through different artistic manifestations. The color palette and furniture were designed to harmoniously complement the works.

“In this space of discovery and encounters, we hope that each visitor will find their own path. May the experiences lived here alter paths, adapt perspectives and renew souls,” concludes the architect.

Portinari finishes are distinguished by a large mural for the display of pieces and in the travertine marble flooring and cladding. In the entrance corridor there is the Mezzo Decor Max format, with super structured planks and rounded sections, and the Luce di Luna covering was applied in a bedside table, headboard and wardrobe in the suite.

In the kitchen, at delicate and versatile brickstands out for its design with rounded corners. Here, the the clay artworks are by Isadora Mourãowith its organic shapes, colors and textures. Completing the environment, a The garden created by florist Aline Matsumoto has a honeycomb covering that brings in natural lighting.

One Holographic shelf all in acrylic escapes the ordinary and is part of the studio. The table with fine grain and a satin touch is the highlight. Right next to it, the work from the “Dormentes” series developed by Lucas Simões brings an artistic element.

The suite is designed in porcelain and the bathroom has a natural floor finish and a thin, delicate strip of board on the walls.

“Through meaningful experiences, we not only enrich our lives, but we strengthen connections and encourage a more participatory and culturally engaged society. In this way, we expand human connections with art in all its forms and expressions. Bringing people closer to art is a commitment that unites us,” concludes Melina.
