From porticos to paneling, CASACOR Goiás projects have used MDF in different ways:
MDF is a very versatile material, with countless patterns and colors, which is why it has conquered interior projects. At CASACOR Goiás 2024, plywood was presented in different ways. Check out the applications in each environment:
The Island – MDF as stone
The Ilha space is a kind of living room. It is a set of furniture, sofas, table and chairs that are all grouped in a single module and the circulation is all peripheral. The project speaks of the impermanence of life, it is an invitation to embrace, to communion and union, in a post-pandemic moment, in which people feel the desire to meet more.
Architect Leo Romano chose MDF Crômio by Guararapes, which has a sedimentary rockdo a summary box that goes from the ceiling to the walls of the room. “Since this MDF looks a lot like stone, I wanted to create the feeling of a very important physical weight. In contrast, the lower part of the wall has a curtain and creates a very mysterious floating impression,” explains the professional. The project reinforces lightness, intimacy and appreciation of life.
Natuzzi Space – MDF in boiserie
The Natuzzi Space is a room with multiple spaces to rest. For the project, architect Lívia Martins based herself on the concept of timelessness, an environment that can pass from generation to generation or transform into other settings without the need for major changes.
Classic materials such as marble floor AND walls covered with MDF panels were the professional’s bet. “Peroba MDF has a very natural look and makes the room more welcoming. The material has also been used in the wall paneling and in a bench that frames the window, so that the tenant can enjoy the view and natural light,” he explains. Inspired by Perobinha, a Brazilian wood of great prestige in furniture manufacturing, MDF Peroba has earthy colors and marked grain and is also part of Guararapes’ 2024 launches.
Being CLOSE – MDF in the porch
The living room, called Estar PERTO, functions as an oasis of tranquility, where each element has been carefully selected to promote a feeling of calm and serenity. Inspired by minimalist elegance of Scandinavian architecturethe environment is an invitation to relax and recharge with comfort and warmth, bringing the concept of a fluid and integrated space. Natural light, neutral colors and details such as delicately arranged potted plants add freshness.
The MDF chosen by architects Natiara Reis and Paulo Reis was Natural Oak, used at the entrance of the space, creating a porch next to painted bricks. “We use a neutral color palettereinforcing the culture of the essential, and the natural oak MDF was chosen to give a touch of life, completing the natural aesthetic we wanted. The panel has a light tone and is very similar to natural veneer, transmitting a feeling of warmth”, they explain.
Entrance and ticket office – MDF on the walls
Architect Rodrigo Peixoto was responsible for designing the foyer and ticket office of CASACOR Goiás 2024. The idea was to create a functional space that, at the same time, would attract people’s attention. The furniture and the use of earth tones were chosen to provide a visual impact and a welcoming feeling. The environment stands out for the combination of wood, concrete elements and soft lights, with a mix of textures and elements.
“The choice of Imbuia MDF was deliberate, it is a dark colour, which brings warmth and at the same time refinement to the environment. The panels were used on both walls that embrace the living room at the box office and give personality to the project”, comments Peixoto. Imbuia is a noble wood from the Atlantic Forest and associated with luxury furniture, the MDF of Guararapes seeks to highlight the naturalness of the colors, the reality of the designs and the perfect touch of this wood.
