Who can’t eat avocado?

People with latex allergies may have an avocado allergy. Symptoms include hives, swelling, and difficulty breathing. People with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) should limit consumption because of the FODMAPs in the fruit, which cause gastrointestinal distress.

Those taking anticoagulant medications should monitor their vitamin K intake to avoid interference with treatment. Consulting a doctor or nutritionist is essential to properly adjust your diet.

“As a nutritionist, I recommend incorporating avocado into your diet in a balanced way, maximizing its benefits while remaining aware of individual needs and possible adverse reactions. After all, the key to a healthy diet is variety and moderation,” concluded Ronan Araujo.

Origin

The term “avocado” comes from the Nahuatl word “ahuacatl,” meaning “testicle,” referring to the shape of the fruit. The Spanish conquistadors were the first Europeans to encounter avocados in the early 16th century, and they later introduced the fruit to Europe and other parts of the world. Avocado spread to the Caribbean, Africa, and Southeast Asia in the 17th and 18th centuries, and to the United States in the 19th century.
