6 Foods That Make Candidiasis Worse and How to Relieve It

THE candidiasis It is a fungal infection caused by the proliferation of Candid in the genital region, which causes symptoms such as itchingwhite discharge, redness in the vaginal area and pain when urinating. Several factors can promote the excessive growth of the fungus, such as the use of antibiotics and stress emotional, but one of the main ones concerns, mainly, the food.

“Fungi need an acidic environment to reproduce, and foods rich in simple carbohydrates, fats, and animal proteins contribute to this acidity,” explains nutritionist Roberto Navarro.

1. Simple carbohydrates

Foods rich in simple carbohydratessuch as white flour and its derivatives, sweets, processed foods and alcoholic beverages can affect the metabolism of the Candida fungus, which needs glucose to build its cell walls and expand its colonies in the body, according to nutritionist Clarissa Fujiwara, a graduate in science from the University of São Paulo (USP).

Furthermore, simple carbohydrates can change the pH of the intimate area, making it more acidic and favorable to the proliferation of the fungus. To replace them, you can choose to do so healthy and rich in fibers, as they slow down the release of glucose into the body.
