Active physical life is the first step of this proposal
August is marked by the August Blue Red campaign, whose theme is dedicated to raising awareness of vascular diseases. Sport Life will thus transmit five tips to prevent vascular diseases with the help of vascular surgeon Dr. Cristienne Souza.
Five tips to prevent vascular diseases
Active lifestyle
Walking, swimming or cycling promote blood circulation and strengthen blood vessels.
Balanced diet
Eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to keep your cholesterol levels and blood pressure in check.
Avoid smoking
Smoking is a significant risk factor for the development of vascular disease. Quitting smoking or avoiding smoking can dramatically reduce this risk.
Check your blood pressure
Maintain your blood pressure within healthy limits through a balanced diet, regular exercise, and medications prescribed by your doctor, if necessary.
Avoid sitting for long periods
Avoid sitting or standing for long periods without moving. Take breaks to move your legs, especially during long journeys or prolonged periods of work.
Number
The WHO (World Health Organization) survey indicates that approximately 47% of the Brazilian population does not exercise frequently, but only 14% exercise for at least 10 minutes, an average that worries experts.
