Those with sensitive skin always feel a certain fear in undergoing skin cleansing and other aesthetic procedures for fear of exacerbating existing problems such as sensitivity and redness of the skin. Fortunately, for these patients who want to improve the health and beauty of their skin, the Hydrafacial hydrodermabrasion experience has proven to be an effective option to give them the best skin of their lives without tearing, damaging or burning it. And now the procedure, already extremely customizable, has become even more versatile with the arrival of a new peeling specific for sensitive skin: Peel Sensitive.
“Peel Sensitive is a delicate yet effective acid peel that works by removing impurities and dead cells to reveal renewed skin in an extremely delicate way. It thus enhances the action of the Hydrafacial, which has tips equipped with an exclusive technology capable of generating a vortex that extracts impurities, infusing active ingredients into the skin to clean, revitalize, hydrate and purify the skin tissue”, explains dermatologist Daniela Aidar, member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD) and the Brazilian Society of Dermatological Surgery (SBCD).
Peel Sensitive is used in the first phase of the Hydrafacial as a replacement for the renowned GlySal Prep, using lactobionic acid instead of salicylic acid and phytic acid instead of glycolic acid.
“While lactobionic acid is a powerful exfoliant that belongs to the category of polyhydroxy acids, known for their gentle action on the skin, phytic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid which, in addition to promoting exfoliation, also confers antioxidant properties. In this way Peel Sensitive is able to accelerate cell renewal and fight free radicals and other external aggressors without irritating inflamed and sensitive skin”, underlines the dermatologist.
Before applying Peel Sensitive, the skin is cleansed with the Activ-4 solution to deeply remove impurities and dead cells, unclogging pores and softening comedones. “Furthermore, this step also removes the stratum corneum, the most superficial layer of the skin tissue, to facilitate the absorption of the Peel Sensitive active ingredients, which is applied immediately afterwards.”
The next step is the mechanical extraction of blackheads and comedones, which occurs while the tip releases the Beta HD-Clear solution, capable of promoting powerful skin hydration. In the next phase, boosters chosen according to the needs of each patient are used.
“The Britenol booster, for example, contains vitamin C and alpha-arbutin to lighten imperfections and add luminosity. Nassif MD booster is a powerful moisturizer suitable for mature and dehydrated skin that contains ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and betaine to restore the softness and shine of the skin tissue. Another option is Booster Restore, which shrinks pores and controls signs of aging containing hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Finally, the Dermabuilder booster is rich in peptides capable of reducing fine lines and improving skin elasticity”, specifies Daniela Aidar.
After the boosters, LED therapy is performed, which can be carried out with blue or red light, the latter being particularly beneficial for sensitive skin. “As well as having a powerful anti-inflammatory effect, helping to calm the skin and reduce redness, the red LED also stimulates blood circulation and the cell regeneration process, which also starts to work more efficiently, for example in the production of collagen . This translates into an improvement in brightness, texture and elasticity,” underlines the doctor.
To complete the procedure, the Antiox+ solution is applied, which mixes multipeptides and antioxidants to reduce the appearance of fine lines and improve skin hydration and elasticity.
As a result, according to the dermatologist, the procedure promotes an immediate improvement in the quality of the skin tissue, uniforming the structure and increasing the firmness, vitality, softness and shine of the skin, as well as reducing the inflammation and redness characteristic of the skin . sensitive skin. “Clearing pores and improving the hydration and vascularity of the skin also increases the effectiveness of cosmetics used daily in the skin care routine and improves the results of other aesthetic procedures,” he points out.
Quick, with sessions lasting from 30 to 60 minutes, the Hydrafacial treatment is painless, non-invasive, requires no recovery time and is completely safe. “As regards the number of sessions, it is recommended to carry out monthly sessions or according to the specialist’s advice to help maintain the results and continue to promote the natural restoration of the skin”, concludes Daniela Aidar.
