The mother of the “little giant” Henrí Bandeira, 10 months old, spoke to Terra Agora this Thursday 31

DJ and physical educator Alessandra Xavier, 29, was not surprised when her son, Henrí Bernardo, was born with a considerable weight, over 4 kg. However, as the months passed, the baby became a “little giant” and, at nine months, he already measured around 79 cm and weighed 14.8 kg – on average, males reach nine months at 8.9 kg and 69 centimeters, according to a Unimed survey.

Henrí’s unusual size caused a sensation on social media: one of the videos Alessandra posted showing her son reached 14 million views on one platform alone. Al Earth now This Thursday, the 31st, the mother provided more details about the unusual growth.

Alessandra explained that large children are common in her family, as her siblings were all born weighing more than 4kg. However, unlike his uncles, Henrí did not stop growing as the months passed, which caught his mother’s attention.

“He got bigger and bigger, even the paediatricians said he was well above the curve but that there were no problems, given that he was breastfed. At first I was very worried, but the paediatricians always reassured me” , he said.

In addition to videos featuring Henrí going viral, the family also took the child’s first international trip, visiting European countries. During tours in France and Italy, there were people asking to take a photo with the ‘little giant’.

“He attracted a lot of attention, we passed through the streets and people asked to take a photo of him,” said his mother, underlining Henrí’s friendliness: “People pass by and play, he plays together. When someone doesn’t play with him, he shouts , he likes attention.”

“I don’t even need to go to the gym, I train my arms at home,” Alessandra said laughing. Henrí was born weighing more than 4kg, a condition experts call fetal macrosomia.

“We were told that this unusual growth would improve after a year, that it would consume more energy, we are always vigilant to identify the need and ask for help”, concluded Alessandra.
