Vans opens a pop-up store in Pinheiros with the releases of Bape, Potato and Clash The Wall

The Vans temporary store will open on the 7th with the arrival of the Premium Classics line and many exclusive sneakers

Vans announces the arrival of the Premium Classics line in Brazil. The new category, which elevates the brand’s traditional models to a new level of design, construction and comfort, will initially be available in a temporary store in Largo da Batata, in Pinheiros, São Paulo, from November 7. The store, which will remain open until November 30th, will not only offer a special selection of products from the Premium Classics line, but will also host a series of cultural initiatives on the weekends of November (9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th). These activities, which will see the collaboration of partners Guadalupe Store and YourID, will be open to the public upon registration via the Sympla platform, promising to enrich the visitor experience with the creative essence of Vans.

Vans’ Premium Classics line revisits models like the Authentic, Old Skool and Sk8-Hi, elevating them with high-quality finishes and greater comfort. The introduction of the new Sola Foam ADC insoles, highlighted by their durability and seamless design, aims to provide a perfect fit and long-lasting comfort. Plus, details like the painted rubber collar not only provide a sophisticated finish, but also protect the shoe from dirt buildup.

“The idea is to provide our consumers with an elevated brand experience, consistent with the Premium Classics category. Our aim is to provide creative expression and this category connects us with the best of this pillar. Everything will be linked to art , to design and music with our partners Guadalupe and Your ID, who have been helping us elevate the category for years.”, says Pietro Giovanelli, director of Vans in Brazil.

To further energize the space, Vans will include, on the occasion of the opening of the pop-up store on the 7th, the sale of three products long desired by Brazilian sneakerheads: the Vans x Bape and Vans x Imran Potato collaborations and the Clash La collaborations Wall line. Since their first collaboration in 2021, Bape and Vans have explored the potential of their partnerships, always raising the bar on joint creations. Bape, with its long history of notable collaborations in the world of sneakers, now turns its attention to Vans, bringing a fresh look to skate culture’s beloved silhouettes.

The Sk8-Mid maintains a relatively conservative profile, with Bape’s camo print extending from the side panel to the heel, while the brand name is highlighted in vulcanized rubber on the midsole. The olive and black colorway offers a more sober approach than previous collections, but no less impactful, given the translucent camouflage sole that the models sport.

On the other hand, Old Skool ventures into more experimental territory. The classic silhouette is adorned with an olive green camouflage pattern, which alternates on each side of the shoe, offering an intriguing visual contrast. The most notable detail is the pink and blue print on the right side of each sneaker, which replaces the signature Vans stripe with the Bape Star logo, a bold move that symbolizes the merging of the two brands’ identities. Prices reflect the exclusivity and innovative design of the collaboration, with the Old Skool offered at R$750 and the Sk8-Mid at R$850.

Vans x Potato Knu Skool MTE

The collaboration with renowned designer Imran Potato, known for his unique and fun approach to fashion, comes with the Made For The Elements (MTE) division. This partnership marks the continuation of the successful collaboration between Vans and Imran, which began in 2022, with pieces that combine humor, style and personality.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Imran Potato has stood out in the fashion world for his ability to subvert expectations, using humor as a tool to challenge norms and inspire his audiences. Its unique creative identity and disruptive approach to design finds new ground in collaboration with Vans, particularly in the MTE division, known for its rugged, element-ready silhouettes.

The collection features a new interpretation of the iconic Knu Skool silhouette, originally released in 1998 and reintroduced exclusively by Vans Japan. For this edition, Imran Potato has improved the design of the Knu Skool MTE, incorporating oversized elements and exaggerating its features. The result is a waterproof suede upper with reinforced stitching, complemented by the iconic 3D Vans sidestripe and a tractor outsole, offering not only a distinctive look in black and dark blue, but also functionality and durability .

The vans collide with the wall

At Clash The Wall, Vans pays homage to the iconic work of artist Sterling Ruby, known for his textile experimentation. The four Vans classics – Authentic 44, Old Skool 36, Sk8-Hi 38 and Mid-Skool 37 – combine the brand’s core elements to create a sneaker that reflects the true essence of Vans.

The LAPI project, which aims to revitalize the Largo da Batata region, welcomes the Premium Classics store as part of its initiative. This move highlights Vans’ commitment to promoting creative expression and offering products that not only respect the brand’s heritage, but also push the boundaries of innovation and design.
