Lula’s health

Lula has undergone two surgeries in recent days. The first, carried out at the beginning of the week, was to drain a hematoma in the frontoparietal region, on the left side of the head. The lesion was 3 centimeters and was removed.

According to the medical team, the intracranial hemorrhage is the consequence of a domestic accident suffered in October, when he fell in the bathroom of the Palácio da Alvorada and needed stitches in his head.

The second operation, carried out on Thursday the 12th, was a complementary procedure to avoid possible new bleeding in the future. The procedure Lula underwent is called middle meningeal artery embolization.

Through a catheter that reaches the head region, a substance is injected that interrupts the blood flow in this artery.

On Thursday evening, a new medical bulletin also reports that Lula underwent new laboratory tests and that the intracranial drainage, applied in the first surgery, was removed without any complications.
