Regarding the care of the child after discharge from the hospital, with the patient stable, Dr. Miguel Liberato mentions the importance of breastfeeding for most children after enterocolitis.

“In most cases, they will progress very well, but it is important to have a multidisciplinary monitoring of this family, evaluate whether there is a need for specific nutritional support and whether, individually, there is indication of another form of feeding other than breast milk It is important, as for all children, to regularly monitor weight gain, at intervals established by the pediatrician”, concludes specialist Dr. Miguel Liberato.
