Born into a digitalized environment, new adults have adopted new ways of purchasing products and services. Buying online is not a problem, but the real nightmare is a traditional place.
Even as many young people, aged between 20 and 25, begin to engage in tasks such as paying taxes, as well as allocating money for petrol or household services, going to physical stores has become a daunting task. Apparently they don’t have the knowledge to do so.
On TikTok, a 24-year-old from Zaragoza, Spain, shared a video where he expressed his fear of buying from a butcher’s shop. The publication has received numerous comments and testimonials from people who are also embarrassed or simply don’t know how to interact in a market.
Whatever the location, they simply have difficulty knowing what to do or what to ask. Some users said they ended up buying products like a whole salmon or a quarter of chorizo simply because they saw others doing it.
“I didn’t know that salmon was sold in pieces at the fish market. I asked for a salmon thinking it was a kilo, the seller gave me the whole salmon (64 euros) and I took it with me.”
“I once saw a lady buy a quarter of chorizo, the quantity seemed good to me and since then I’ve been buying a quarter of everything.”
