The singer Preta Gil (50) is being treated for colorectal cancer and underwent extensive surgery in late December. Little by little, she shared moments of her recovery with her fans and was moved, last Friday, the 10th, by publishing a video on social media, where she appears walking for the first time in the hospital. In an interview with CARAS Brazilthe oncologist Jorge Abissamra Filho explains the artist’s care.

The singer underwent a complicated surgery that lasted about 21 hours to remove tumors located in different areas of the body, including lymph nodes, ureter and peritoneum. The surgery is part of cancer treatment.

According to Dr. Jorge, there are no restrictions for Preta Gil to walk again, on the contrary, together with a medical team, it is interesting that the singer returns to her pre-operative state, that is, she returns with the same quality of life as before of the operation.

The oncologist explains that Preta Gil will walk normally again after recovering from the surgery, she will not need to “relearn” how to walk, as she has not had any neurological trauma, she is just recovering from the extensive medical procedure.

“He will walk normally again! He will not have to relearn, he has had no neurological trauma, no changes that have affected the functionality of his lower limbs or brain. His surgery has caused no harm, no consequences in that sense. He will return walk normally, you won’t have to learn to walk again”, concludes Doctor Jorge evaluating the case of the singer Preta Gil.
