  4. Bring over high heat to a boil.
  5. As soon as it boils, reduce over medium heat and cook for about 30 minutes – make sure that the figs are correctly pre -placed and soft to the touch of a fork, otherwise the cooking time increases before it goes to the syrup.
  6. Drain well.

  1. In the same pan, mix sugar and water.
  2. Bring over medium heat, stirring until the sugar completely dissolves, forming a thin and translucent syrup (from about 3 to 5 minutes).
  3. If you choose the port wine, add it to the syrup, reduce the fire and cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the smooth alcohol.
  4. Add the pre-exposed and drained figs to the syrup.
  5. Mix gently to involve figs without damaging them.
  6. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 2 hours or until the figs are soft, use a fork to check the cooking point of the fruit: see Article 3 of the preparation pre -repair.
  7. The syrup should thicken slightly, with the consistency similar to a thin honey, but still fluid enough to involve figs.
  8. While sweet cuisine, sterilize the glasses in which it will be stored: this step is essential to ensure the duration and safety of the candies (see the tip at the end of the recipe).

Finishing and assembly:

  1. Remove the pan from the heat and let the figs cool to the syrup.
  2. Transfer to sterile glass* and keep in the refrigerator.
  3. Serve in individual cups, water with the syrup.
