The documentary festival is True recently announced its film program for the commemorative edition of the 30th anniversary.
Created by the Critic and journalist of Cinema Amir Labaki, this year’s festival will be between 3 and 13 April, at the same time, in five rooms of San Paolo and three others in Rio de Janeiro.
The 2025 edition will free 85 productions from 30 countries, including films, medium and short films, as well as conferences, debates and sessions in streaming.
“The fact that this festival reaches its thirtieth edition this year confirms first of all our initial trust: the documentary required a specific annual window in the country that would have provided access to the public to excellence and the originality of Brazilian and international production not of a thumb”, says Labaki in a press release.
The artists Rita Lee and Marília Pêra will be themes of the opening documentaries of the Festival. “Ritas” by Oswaldo Santana, will be shown to guests on April 2, at 20:30, at the Brazilian cinema, in San Paolo. In Rio “Viva Marília” will be shown, by Zelito Viana, the 3rd, at 20:30, at the Net Botafogo station.
The closing session will have “Trains”, a film by Poland and Lithuania on a journey by artistic and reflective train through the 20th century Europe, made up entirely of archive images.
The festival program is divided into competitive characteristics of Brazilian films, main/medium -sized, Brazilian short films and international short films and in non -competitive exhibitions: special programs, state of things, Latin American and classic focus is all true.
