We went to see Jacquin’s recently opened Steak Bife and we tell you what the whole experience was like; watch

Yesterday, August 10, Masterchef’s most feared chef opened his new venture, a steakhouse on Avenida Rebouças, in Pinheiros. The proposal of Steak Steak is the following: the customer chooses a cut of meat, which will be grilled, and serves an all you can eat side dish that is served by the waiters, which includes cauliflower with bechamel, baked apple, potatoes and much more.
The restaurant is so new that no equipment had been used until yesterday. In Exclusive interview for Degusta, Erick Jacquin introduced us to the kitchen (which was so new and shiny) and told us “today I will do something, which I don’t think anyone has done so far, I will open the restaurant without training, without anything, I haven’t even turned on the stove yet . So I’ll put the charcoal on and turn on this grill for the first time with you ”.
“Without training” are strong words, because the chefs of Président and Buteco do Jacquin, who already have extensive experience in the kitchen, took care of the kitchen. Also in the kitchen was Fernando, one of the last eliminated by Masterchef Brasil 2022, who worked as a pastry chef at the restaurant.
Is that so? How was the experience?
We arrived already treated very well by the Chef, who insisted on greeting one by one and serving a glass of champagne. Guests included journalists, food influencers, Masterchef attendees, their family and friends.
We sat in front of the kitchen and watched a popular restaurant run up close. Jacquin ran around the kitchen, sampling the dishes and cooking, and also trying to assist those who came to take photos and videos. It felt like a Masterchef episode! In one of the most tragicomic moments, we saw him get indignant to see that the mustard was Heinz and not French. But nothing the chef is not used to and knows how to solve, good food makes up for everything.
We started the dinner with a couvert (R $ 19) of naturally fermented bread, herb mayonnaise and cabriola cheese pate, especially mayonnaise, which was very tasty. For starters, we tasted a mixed salad of leaves, almond slices, cherry tomatoes and mustard sauce, which was missing some sauce, but which will not be kept on the menu. Instead, a goat cheese salad with almonds and pears will be included (R $ 65).

Now the highlight of the evening: the meats. Ancho steak and rack of lamb (R $ 150) impressed us with their flavor, succulence and perfect point, they really did justice to a meat restaurant. The side dishes, on the other hand, did not impress due to the lack of tompero, but it is worth remembering that they can vary from day to day.

Despite the meat shining on the menu, the desserts weren’t wrong, the Nutella crepe (R $ 35) was perfect and the red fruit panacotta was creamy and very balanced in flavors. There is also in the menu “the real petit gâteau” of Eric Jacquinwhich is one of their most famous dishes.

In the end, the balance was positive, so the new restaurant is worth a visit, especially if you are a meat lover. “My partners and I have already opened five new restaurants and, soon, we will have another new addition, which will be a cafeteria with breakfast,” Jacquin tells her guests. So, he waits for more news from Masterchef’s cutest judge.
