The first day of SPFW N60 invaded the Center of São Paulo, bringing the public to the Mário de Andrade Library, which turns 100 years old, in João Pimenta. Then, for a train journey from Júlio Prestes station, with models parading on moving vehicles, to Gloria Coelhowhich celebrates 50 years of its brand, mixing the era of the industrial revolution and the emergence of railways with AI (artificial intelligence) prints.
At night, Ronaldo Fraga returned to SPFW with an exciting show, at the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, at the Estação da Luz, paying homage to Milton Nascimento, with his looks in earth and sky tones. As the designer stated in promotional material, “before being note, melody and lyrics, Milton is earth, sky and mountain.” Look at the photos of the fashion shows:
João Pimenta

The first show of the 60th edition of SPFW began on Monday morning (13th) in an atmosphere of tropical and very Brazilian tailoring, at the hands of João Pimenta. Dressed in white, the actress Bárbara Paz read excerpts from “Macunaíma”, by Mário de Andrade, and Fernando Pessoa.
Once again, the designer has deconstructed the codes of men’s clothing, offering trousers, jackets, shirts and blouses with a loose, comfortable and sophisticated fit. And, why not, a hint of sexy, with transparencies and unexpected cutouts.

Gloria Coelho

In the 30 years of the SPFW and in the 50 years of its existence, Gloria Coelho held her show on a moving train, departing from Júlio Prestes station, in a section under renovation, for a journey of about 40 minutes in which the models passed among the fashionista passengers. Antonia in a dark blue dress and Isabella Fiorentino in a gray suit of trousers and jacket they were part of the casting call, whose theme is “The future is built in movement”.
Victorian-inspired pieces from the 19th century, the era of great scientific revolutions and the advent of the railways, presented a modern and timeless look. The floral print, for example, comes from a Victorian painting, whose image has been transformed and adapted by artificial intelligence, in a mix of old and new. Highlights include floral appliqués in tulle, satin and organza, as well as ribbons, some ball cutouts and metal tops.

Ronaldo Fraga

Ronaldo Fraga It’s never obvious. Upon her return to SPFW, in her first live show after the pandemic, she presented the “Minas Nascimento” collection, in honor of singer Milton Nascimento. The Portuguese Language Museum, in Estação da Luz, was the chosen location.
In this procession woven with crochet, embroidery, threads and needles, pilgrims exchanged candles for lamps placed on their heads in the shape of the mountains of Minas Gerais. And the little angels, represented by 10 boys, began this beautiful and sensitive tribute to the singer, who was diagnosed with dementia.
