A Morada Café went viral on social media with a post asking customers to help with the dishes; understand the dispute
A publication from A Morada Café (@ amorada.cafe) reverberated on social media this week, saying: “We don’t charge 10% but… you can help us by washing the dishes”. And of course Twitter went wild and the post reached far more than the 3,000 followers they currently have on their Instagram.
What no one expected was that there was a very different and inspiring story behind this post.
The café is located on Rua da República in Porto Alegre and has been operating for six months, in the space where there was once another café. Elin, a bar owner and illustrator, spoke with taste and explained it where they are located has been temporarily borrowed by a couple of friends from Porto Alegre, owners of the old café.
But coffee is just a small piece of a much bigger story. “Amorada is a low financial and sustainable house that we are building on the north coast of Rio Grande do Sul. At the beginning of the year, my boyfriend and I wanted to experience what it was like to drink coffee and increase our income to continue doing housework, ”says Elin about how A Morada Café was born.

But where do the dishes fit into this story?
The illustrator explains that many of the clients are her friends or have become friends during the time they are running the business, so they always help the couple in times of constraint and rush. “One day a friend was washing the dishes and dropped the pearl:” If I wash the dishes, don’t I pay 10%? “. So we don’t even charge 10%. Then I came up with the idea of doing a triplet post with this story of “we don’t charge 10% but you can help us with the dishes”. someone just took one of the cards and took it to Twitter, thus starting a network of hate and avacalhação with coffee“, account.

Posts that always had a funny tone and were reserved for followers, who already understood how the communication of the place worked, ended up falling into the networks in a completely distorted way.
Despite all the controversy, the owner of the bar claims that friends continue to help in the maintenance of the café and continue the housework. And because they don’t charge 10% service, anyone who wants to help can buy some of the products with illustrations made by Elin herself, like a mug, bag, and button, or leave a tip.
