A simple recipe for grandma’s pie, which had been half forgotten in a corner of Rondônia, ended up being the cat’s leap for an entrepreneur to start a successful business, which today earns a whopping R $ 3 million.

This is exactly what happened to the lawyer Fernanda Yamao, resident of Ouro Preto do Oeste, 330 km from the capital Porto Velho, who was looking for a way to improve the family budget, which was increasingly heavy due to the arrival of his pair of twins. born prematurely. The year was 2015.

After stumbling upon a recipe from her grandmother, Fernanda anticipated an increase of R $ 1 thousand in the budget for the production of cakes. However, in the first few months, her billing reached R $ 6,000 per month.

At first he was reluctant to display his products on the Internet. However, sharing knowledge would become the lifeblood of their business. Today he earns over R $ 3 million, with over 12,000 apprentices throughout Brazil and abroad as well.

Started with 50 cakes a day

There were 50 to 60 cakes a day working with what I had in my kitchen, and according to her, the only reason she no longer sold was because I couldn’t produce more. So, she also started selling in nearby towns and the income from the pies exceeded her attorney’s income.

Thanks to word of mouth, the boleira became famous and started receiving messages from people asking for advice on cooking and entrepreneurship. At the beginning there was an objection because, despite knowing how to make cakes to be consumed at home, I did not like social media, I was ashamed to sell, I did not know how to charge and I was very afraid of not working.

“When I got together, I created my own method of making and selling at home and having a higher income than many educated people,” says Fernanda.

With the great success of the cakes, there is no turning back: he decides to get out of the law and, in 2019, he also begins to teach people how to make a cake.

“I talked about what I did to sell what I produced, I gave advice and over time I saw that this alone was already generating results in people,” he reveals.

Overcoming shyness to teach on social media

Fernanda started using social networks to teach her pupils. With thousands of followers, her lives reach more than 5,000 connections. Among the audience there are housewives, travelers, onlookers and people looking for a new business. Some of her students already earn more than 15,000 reais a month on pies.

“I am very proud to see where they can go”, comments Fernanda. “One of the students already has two patisseries in Sao Paulo and is preparing to open the next one.”

Currently the students have a support team to answer their questions, always under the careful supervision of her, which intends to start, shortly, a tutoring to accompany students who have already reached 5 thousand turnover.

“We have many exciting cases of students who were worse off, students who were selling truffles at traffic lights, students who were in depression, who were already hungry and today they are successful kids,” says Fernanda.

But what’s the secret of these cakes, anyway?

The interest in cooking was inherited from obatian (grandmother) and for the culinary artist, spreading her recipes is a way to keep her memory alive.

“Everything he did was good. Today she is no longer with us, but there is no day when I don’t think about her. And when I’m in the kitchen, I’m at peace and I feel closer to her, ”she says.

“I am a person transformed by homemade desserts, the closeness I have with my students and my audience, the simplicity of the method I teach, that anyone is able to learn, apply and have results”, he concludes.
