The accident occurred during the landing of flight LA3029 (Cuiabá-São Paulo). The animal allegedly connected to Florianópolis (LA3080), but escaped and ran to the aircraft yard. According to the publication, an emergency warning was issued.

In a statement, Latam said he was deeply sorry for what had happened and that he was working with search teams around the airport to find the puppy.
