cases of COVID-19 are on the rise in 15 Brazilian states, according to Boletim Infogripe, a survey prepared by Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) released this Wednesday 23. The other 11 states, in addition to the Federal District, with a moderately increasing trend in the last six weeks were Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima and Santa Catarina.
The study is based on data from the Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (Sivep-Flu) in epidemiological week 46, which runs from 13 to 19 November.
In these last four epidemiological weeks, of the positive cases of SARS, 61.8% were Sars-CoV-2 (Covid-19); 16.3% respiratory syncytial virus (RSV); 6.2% for influenza A; 0.2% for influenza B.
Of the deaths, 2.0% from influenza A; 0.0% for influenza B; VSR of 0.7%; and 93.3% for Sars-CoV-2.
The growth in the number of covid-19 cases has occurred in all regions of the country and the data of laboratory tests by age show a predominance especially in the adult population, over 60 years old.
In case of Influence there was a decline in states that experienced an increase between the months of September and October. In São Paulo, RSV cases continue to be high in children up to 4 years of age and show a resurgence of growth in this population in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.
